Daimler was the first British motor vehicle manufacture established in 1893 and was renown for producing luxury motor cars. Bought by Jaguar in 1960 they continued to produce Daimlers in their Jaguar MK 2 bodies and were pitched as high end luxury motorcars. The 250 V8 is essentially a Jaguar MK 2 with the very well engineered SP250 (Dart) engine producing 140 bhp and capable of 110mph. First registered SFD 30F in 1968 and subsequently exported to Guernsey in 2008 and used sparingly. It comes with a comprehensive file, hand book, old buff log book and many MOT certificates dating back to 1976 which shows a mileage then of only 59,000 miles. The vehicle was obviously used very little since 1976 averaging only approximately 275 miles per year.
This car has the all the signs of being a well-cared for motor car throughout its life. The V5C states only two owners since 1979. The car has mostly original paint and still is fitted with the wonderful original leather interior. We have recently worked through the mechanicals of the car undertaking works as required. Now a very nice car to look at and a very nice to drive. The car is currently located at our UK store in Dorset.
The body is in very good solid original condition and free from poor repair work. The underside is excellent and exterior is finished in the Warwick Grey. Chrome is good and panel fit is as Jaguar supplied them.
The red leather is in most original and excellent condition. The headlining is original and also very good. The extensive burr walnut dash and capping's have nicely mellowed and are free from splits and cracks. Carpets have been replaced. Period radio and jack plug to connect ipod etc. A super original interior that presents well and is best left as it is.
An extensive mechanical overhaul and rebuild has just been undertaken to the brakes, suspension, steering, gearbox plus a major service all carried out by our Jaguar trained mechanic at considerable cost. The car is a pleasure to drive.
