A very solid low mileage two owner, incredibly well documented Volvo P1800S that is in very good and original unrestored condition, being in the second owner’s hands since 1983. This 1964 Swedish built RHD P1800S, is an interim model between the British and later Swedish production, sporting cow horn bumpers and hockey stick side trim shared with the first series British made cars. The Volvo has only covered 2316 miles over the last 34 years, recording a total mileage of 77540 miles from new, supported by the original Volvo service book showing regular service and maintenance from 1964 to date, this compliments a history file containing a complete service history of invoices from 1964. It is probably one of the most well documented and original cars for sale today
Just re-commissioned after period of some twenty years in very dry storage as part of collection. After considerable expenditure and over two hundred hours work, a well documented car, with low ownership, and an excellent history. The normal areas of weakness caused by rust have been attended to, with attention being paid to the underbody, the car mechanically has been subject to a thorough mechanical overhaul as detailed below
The body is in very solid conditions, where necessary in the course of renovation, the floor pan has had any areas of rust removed. The car has never been restored.
It has extremely original solid bodywork with good original interior, which has been checked through and where appropriate has been sympathetically renovated to retain the original patinated finish. The seats and carpets are original, and in well preserved condition.
In course of the recommissioning, the following work has been carried out in our workshops new front and rear shock absorbers, water pump, cooling system, trim and seals, new braking system to include servo, callipers, discs, cylinders, pads, shoes and hoses, wheel bearings new exhaust system, steering track rod ends, new Pirelli Cinturato tyres, and battery. In addition, a full service has been carried out including all fluids, which will be added to the car’s extensive service record.
