Registered new in 1874 as VYR 651M and sold in the London area. Originally supplied in Demask Red with chrome wire wheels and a manual overdrive gearbox, and of course the standard 4 cylinder engine. The cars accompanying file shows its early history from the 1970’s to the 1990’s where it had service works, bodywork restoration works and even some upgrades, (with a Oselli engine upgrade) however there is no mention of the goodies currently fitted. In more recent years VYR 651M has had some rather special upgrades as follows; Rover V8 engine and gearbox , the engine has the marking of V8 tuning specialist RPI Engineering , so we assume supplied and fitted by them. The rear Axle is we believe a Hoyle uprated unit which are highly regarded as a conversion. The interior has uprated leather seats and wood veneer fittings to the dash and centre consol. Twin exhaust system Multi CD player. It was obviously some ones intention to build a rather special fast road, good handling MGB Roadster.
A rather interesting MGB Roadster with very desirable upgrades that would benefit from some bodywork attention, which is however priced accordingly. Currently located in Jersey and viewing now can be undertaken.
Despite having some body restoration works undertaken in 1995 , there is now more work needed. There are signs of corrosion bubbles in the usual MGB areas , door bottoms, front and rear wing seams, sills , so potentially a fair amount of work.
The interior has uprated leather seats, a good hood, a tonneau cover, a Motolita steering wheel, and wooden dash capping’s
The car has recently had commissioning works undertaken due to the car being stored up. The brief was to get the car up and running again , so new batteries have been fitted , attention undertaken to the wiring , the brakes, and other items as necessary. The tyres are matching and good , engine oil pressure and temperature is good , and the car drives well .
