Body

When restored, the chassis was stripped and certain strengthening added to the front end, it was repanelled as required with any areas or rust removed, the coachwork was then refinished in the original red.

Mechanical

As per above specification above, the XK has covered just over 10,000 miles since restoration, and only just over 2000 miles since the uprated VSE rebuilt engine was fitted. Available with the car is a record of the restoration reminiscent of the Domesday Book, it is extremely large and contains the invoices for the parts supplied during the course of the restoration. Full details of the work carried out will be available to a prospective purchase.

Interior

The interior was modified and upgraded to full leather, the seats were purpose build based on the original design but with improvement of being adjustable and reclining. Full harnesses are fitted. For those that would like some additional protection, the original V screen comes with the car as do a set of side screens and mohair tonneau.

History

Designed in the late 1940’s and launched in 1948, the Jaguar XK 120 caused a sensation both in the UK and abroad. The newly developed XK 120 engine was an immediate success in competition and created a generation of engines that would remain in production until 1992, powering both competition cars, sports cars and the refined Jaguar saloons, from XK to XJ, the brand was synonymous with speed and comfort. The XK120 in more recent years continues to attract attention with it’s flowing lines and stylish looks, as we move forward into the 21st Century, the XK 120 was an outstanding style icon of the late 1940’s and today that style still continues to collect admiring glances whenever used.
