The E55 was built in limited numbers and with its AMG-tuned, supercharged V8 engine, this ‘super saloon’ is an invigorating vehicle to drive with a fantastic exhaust note. This very original, low mileage and well cared-for car is in great condition and is a rare opportunity to acquire what is sure to become a modern classic. The car is now UK registered, with UK VAT paid and has a current MOT. Viewing may be arranged by appointment.
The original paintwork is in very good condition with only a few small stone chips and scratches to be found. The AMG bodykit is intact and all the high-spec. extras – e.g. electric sunroof; xenon headlights; heated power-fold mirrors – are in good order.
Regularly serviced and well looked after, everything is working as it should, including the pneumatic, height adjustable suspension; cruise control and wheel-mounted paddle gearshift. The car has recently had the AC recharged and been used on tour in Europe, where it drove “…like a supercar”.
The car has a typically luxurious Mercedes interior, including: electrically adjustable, heated leather front seats with memory function - dual zone climate control - satellite navigation - 6CD changer - privacy glass, all of which are in excellent, working order.
The E55 is powered by Mercedes' M113K engine - a 5.4 litre, supercharged V8 producing 469 bhp and 516 lb. ft. of torque, mated to a Speedshift 5-speed automatic transmission, giving a claimed 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph. This is a very rapid motorcar!
