Finished in the Nightfire red and Granite grey interior. The mini has had some bodywork restoration undertaken over the years as like all classic minis they did suffer from corrosion. Now in good condition and driving well.
Powered by a 1.3 4 cylinder fuel injection engine Producing 63hp which was nippy enough. Invoices in the file show the car was maintained by various garages over the years, including the Austin Rover dealership and more recently by the chauffeur and staff.
The original Granite Grey interior is in fine condition as is the convertible hood.
In 1992 the factory designed Classic Mini Convertible was exhibited at the Birmingham Motor show. Austin Rover was then owned by BMW and they wanted to introduce a convertible model to their range. With the assistance of coach builders Karmann of Osnabruck the worlds smallest 4 seater convertible as BMW claimed was born. Colours choices were red, blue and green but all had a grey fabric interior. Between 1993 and 1996 1081 examples were made. This motor car was supplied new by the Austin Rover Dealership , Cleveland Garages Jersey, to a wealthy Jersey resident and car collector as a gift for his wife to drive around their stately home and of course the small lanes of Jersey.
