Mal joined the Le Riche team in 2016 as a welder fabricator. Previously his skills were honed at Abbey Panels in Coventry, the specialist contractor to Jaguar that made E Type bonnets. Serving a full indentured apprenticeship of 4 years and working a further 15 years, primarily fabricating specialist aircraft and vehicle components, Mal was also on the Abbey team that made the infamous XJ220. Mal was then recruited to the Premier Group Limited, renowned for building the Queen’s bespoke bulletproof Bentleys, and Mal also had the honour of fabricating the 2012 Olympic Torch. Mal's varied skill sets cover welding across the metallurgical spectrum, including TIG, MIG, ARC and gas welding. Furthermore, Mal has expertise on panel contouring and fabrication using the English Wheel. Mal is the exception at Le Riche, he is a keen footballer, who in his younger days was semi pro, and today he is an ardent Manchester United supporter who recreationally is more likely to be found en route to Old Trafford than he is under the bonnet of a cherished classic.
