UW 5777 is a very early 1929 open 2 seater.
Acquired from auction part dismantled and in a very derelict state with missing parts. The car is undergoing a complete restoration to concourse standards.
The body has been recreated as the original components were well beyond repair. This includes a new Ash Frame, aluminium coachwork, steel wings, a new brass radiation shroud, and fabrication of a complete new windscreen frame.
Despite missing coachwork components the engine is within sequence to be the original engine supplied with the chassis in 1929, so a matching numbers motorcar with the correct period chassis components.
Our client chose to refinish the car in the correct period supplied grey and green colour combination with a very dark green interior and hood as per the original. Traces of this colour combination were found on the remains of the body.
No doubt it will be seen on the concourse circuit by its enthusiastic owner who already has a few awards in his trophy cabinet for his other cars, mostly Jaguars.
