Northern Irelands first car manufacture was established in the early 1980's with the aim of producing a cheap super car under the guidance of John Delorean. The futuristic car with its gullwing doors, brushed stainless steel bodywork, Lotus designed suspension and Renault V6 rear engined power unit soon became outdated and unwanted due to problems with reliability. Falsifying sales figures soon led to the Government backers to intervene and the Delorean Car Company terminated in a web of legal wrangles and imprisonment. The car acclaimed with its futuristic looks was chosen as the vehicle for the Hollywood Blockbuster movies "Back To The Future" where it attained worldwide recognition.LRAR were fortunate enough to recreate the Back to the Future car as a promotional vehicle for a local DVD and CD internet supplier, Play.com. It involved overcoming the temperamental problems which are synonymous with the Delorean and creating an illuminating display! A wheeze at night time.
