Maserati

Established in 1926 by racing driver Aflien Maserati and his brothers, it began purely as a racing marque with the Tipo 26 (1.5 litre) and production of road cars started in with the A6 of 1946, a road car but by looks a racer by performance. In 1957 Maserati left motor racing with a huge trophy cabinet of achievements to focus on road cars. Some fantastic and highly desirable models were produced in this racing period to include Racing A6 models and the World Famous Maserati birdcage. The first road car the 3500GT Maintained Maseratis pedigree for speed performance and handling capable of top speed of 144mph. Maserati continued to produce superb performance cars throughout the 1960's and early 1970s whereby after that their reputation became tarnished due to unreliability which only just recently recovered since the introduction of the latest models the 3200GT range.
Maserati was responsible for some true motoring greats, the Mistral, the Quattroporte, the Ghibli, the Bora and the Mezak.
An occasional visitor to our works ; a Mistral we undertook a full body restoration and more recently a local collector has had his 3500GT and A6 coupe in for minor works, a stunning car with a shocking value to match!
